Abstract： The advantage of vehicle positioning data transmission by GPRS network is
analyzed. It is studied that the design of the hardware and software of mobile unit using
Rockwell GPS OEM module , WISMO2C-2 module and TCP\IP chip, and the design of the
communication software of Monitoring center using Socket component.
